The Alteration and Tailoring class at Trenholm State Technical College is taking me back to a lot of things I learned years ago but haven't been doing. I am have lots of fun with the challenge of making welt pockets once again. This is what it looks like so far.

The Industrial Sewing Machine
If you sew and never used an Industrial Machine; you must make every effort to try one. It is outrageously fast and it takes both feet to operate. It will take some practice before you master it; especially if you are accustomed to sewing on a Home Sewing Machine. I sewed on one today and loved every moment. This type of machine is used in factories and manufacturing plants. If you ever take a class at a technical school or design school, you will more than likely have to use one to sew your projects.

Open Sewing

This is the first year we've offered an Open Sewing Camp. The students could choose any thing according to their level of sewing. No beginners were allowed to enroll in this camp.
This student is showing off her four - tiered skirt. She did an excellent job with the gathering.
